Listen, it is so easy, but also so hard. It’s something that God wants for us to do. So we can hear his voice, and so we can truly understand his word and then act on it.
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
James 1:22 NIV
I pulled the part of listening out of this verse because I feel that as we walk through this journey that listening is so important. Because to know what to do we must first listen. And not just to the parts we want to listen to but to all of it. Listen and then do.
We live is such a busy world where we are going here and there and everywhere. Being still to listen isn’t someone that we do well, but it’s a skill we need to learn to embrace. Did you ever notice that Jesus was never in a rush in the Bible? I can’t remember once the Bible saying Jesus ran, or power walked, or speed in traffic. That he look in the sky to see where the sun was and then turned to the disciplines and say 'Hey guys we gotta go we will be late!' I don’t remember not one time. He didn’t rush. But we are addicted to busy, there is so much to do. Every once in awhile let’s be like Jesus and just slow it down take time to listen, hear His Voice and then Do. We can’t get to the Do without the Listen. So it’s time to add this as we Live To Listen.
